How are they formed? Forms Through the precipitation of silica-rich minerals, such as quartz, in water. Once the water become saturated with dissolved silica, it deposits in cavities and fractures in rocks which form microcrystalline structures that make Tree Agate. The green color comes from inclusions of chromium and vanadium.
