Description: Multi-colored fossilized wood material comprised of Jasper, Chalcedony and sometimes Opal
Places Found: Worldwide
How it's formed: Forms when a tree gets covered quickly with mud, volcanic ash, and other materials, preserving the wood before it rots. Mineral-rich water then flows through the sediment, eventually (over millions of years) replacing the original plant structure with minerals, turning the original wood to stone. The resulting fossil exhibits all of the preserved details (wood grain and bark) of the original tree.
Metaphysical Properties: Promotes safety and security
