Coprolite is the scientific name for fossilized poop! There are many different animals that can leave behind these petrified deposits, but reptile feces is the most common.
Dinosaurs came in all sizes and so did their poop! There have been specimens found that are up to 2 feet in length! One specimen found in Canada was a foot and a half long and contained bone fragments. Paleontologists deduced that this petrified poop probablv came from a T-Rex because of its sheer size and what it contained.
Coprolite not only tells us what a dinosaur would have eaten on earth, but also has decorative value. When Coprolite is cut and polished, it can be very beautiful!
