Sharks Teeth Galore
Have you ever heard of Englewood Beach, Florida? Well it’s about to be your new favorite vacation spot if you love funding shark teeth!
Englewood, Florida, is situated about an hour south of Sarasota and about an hour and fifteen north of Fort Myers. Englewood is known for its beaches that are absolutely filled with shark teeth. You can comb the beach and waterline all day and pick up hundreds of teeth.
The Englewood and Venice area sits on a fossil shelf that was the home and eventually graveyard to many sharks. When the sharks died, their skeletons were disintegrated by the water, but their teeth remained and fossilized.
Venice, Florida, especially, has large Megalodon teeth that can be found off the coast by divers. Some of these teeth can be over 6” in length!
